What is the difference between knitted polyester, woven and fully sewn flags?

Each fabric offers unique characteristics to suit various environments and purposes. Knitted polyester is a lightweight fabric suitable for indoor and outdoor use that flies easily in the wind, recommended for calm to moderate environments. Woven polyester is a heavy-duty linen-look fabric designed for both indoor and outdoor use, longer-lasting and more durable than knitted polyester with higher UV resistance for harsher conditions. Fully sewn flags are the most prestigious-looking option, made from the same woven polyester material as flag bunting but with the design sewn on rather than printed, giving it a premium look.

What is a life span of knitted, woven and fully sewn flags?

It is very hard to determine the life span of a flag due to unpredictable weather conditions and other external factors like dust. Flags flown continuously can last between 3-9 months, but taking your flag down at night and in strong winds can extend its lifespan up to 2 years.

What should I do to prolong the life of the flag?

Watch the corners on the 'fly' end of your flag — it's the first area to show signs of wear and tear. Trim off the worn hem and re-hem the ends promptly to greatly extend the life of your flag. Avoid flying a dirty flag, as dirt is sharp and cuts fabrics, dulls colours and causes wear. Most outdoor flags can be washed using a mild detergent in a domestic washing machine.

What is the correct way to dispose of a national flag?

Despatch Information

All of our flags and printed products are manufactured at our Australian manufacturing facility in Melbourne, meaning we can send your product promptly. We also stock a wide range of flagpoles and other accessories.

Items that are in stock will be shipped the same day if ordered before 12pm Monday – Friday. However, at times of high demand this may occur the next day.

Items that are in stock and ordered after 12pm will be sent the following business day.

Items not currently in stock and needing to be printed will be sent within 5-7 business days. Fully sewn flags needing to be manufactured may take up to 10 business days.

Custom orders are typically send within 7-15 business days following artwork approval, depending on complexity and volume. For further information, feel free to contact your dedicated Account Manager.

You may opt to collect your goods from our warehouse at no charge by selecting this option at checkout.

Delivery Carriers and Timeframes

Items less than 1 metre length are sent with Australia Post. We offer Standard and Express options where available.

Large items over 1 metre will be sent via our road freight partner Direct Freight Express.
