It is very hard to determine the life span of a flag due to unpredictable weather conditions and other external factors like dust. Flags flown continuously can last between 3-9 months, but taking your flag down at night and in strong winds can extend its lifespan up to 2 years.

What should I do to prolong the life of the flag?

Watch the corners on the 'fly' end of your flag — it's the first area to show signs of wear and tear. Trim off the worn hem and re-hem the ends promptly to greatly extend the life of your flag.
