About Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November each year. It marks the end of the First World War, when the Armistice took effect at 11am on 11 November 1918, and honours all Australians who have served and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Services are held at 11am, when a minute's silence is kept.
The red poppy is the symbol of remembrance. The purple poppy recognises the animals that served alongside Australian service men and women.
Flagworld's commemorative flags are made with respect and care in our Melbourne facility, and each purchase contributes to the RSL Poppy Appeal.
Displaying flags correctly is part of showing respect. See our Australian flag protocols and flag care guide.
